Judy Terryn Hi Louis, I love your dancing and you are my favorite male pro. Love your speed and precision. I miss you on DWTS this season. Are you coming back to compete on the show? Tell me what it was like to be a professional partner to Karina Smirnoff. I would love to see videos of your routines with her. Someone posted on the DWTS boards that you are going to be on "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox this season. Is this true? Are you going to be a judge? Thank you. All I can say is keep your fingers crossed. As I have mentioned in my blog, it's really up to the producers who have a good eye for this sort of thing. They determine whether we professionals have a good "fit" with each new season of celebrities. Even if I do not make it into next season, I have a wonderful relationship with the show's producers and anticipate I will continue working with them on DWTS for a long time to come. In terms of Karina, she's really a dream to dance with and we have such a great time on the floor together. She's an amazing dancer and I am grateful that DWTS has provided us a chance to dance together again. I am sure there are clips on the Internet of Karina and I dancing but there is some excellent footage of the two of us performing at the U.S. National and Open Professional International Latin-American Championships in 2000. This footage is available on VHS at http://www.dancevision.com As for me being a judge for So You Think You Can Dance, I must say that this is not true as I am under contract with ABC. As such, I can not switch networks and consequently can not assume the role of a judge on So You Think You Can Dance. Manuel Italy Why did you stop with Latin American dance? I'm an Italian professional dancer and I think about you and your ex partner Julie miss in our world of Latin American. Congratulations for all emotion that you give me when I saw you dance. Thank you for such gracious compliments. Well I never really stopped dancing, just merely stopped competing. I stopped competing because I felt I had achieved what I wanted by becoming one of the top world class competitors at the time. Having achieved that goal, I felt it was time to move onto other pursuits. I have been able to accomplish many things since my competitive days and I do not regret my decision at all. Kimberly Nelson For someone like myself who hasn't really worked out for years, what type of dance classes do you recommend. Also my daughter is a bit clumsy, gorgeous, but clumsy, I want her to be more lady-like and I also want her to have a better balance. She is going through her awkward stage. What classes do you recommend for her? Mr. L, I am so proud of you.
Thanks. I think the best thing to do is start out with some beginner dance classes but you should also couple it with light cardio exercise of your choosing. In order to really maximize your potential, it is important to learn the basic foundations of the dance, but also to train your body so that it is better prepared for the endurance that dancing requires. For your daughter, I recommend the same. Dance is such a great way to develop poise, balance, and agility. Your daughter will be able to understand her body better and how all the mechanics function in harmony. Catherine Milwaukee, WI Hi Louis, How did you like working on All My Children? Are you thinking of changing your profession to acting? Good questions. My experience on All My Children was an amazing one. The cast and crew were so friendly and made me feel very comfortable on set. Acting is a great profession, and I definitely hope to do more of it as opportunities present themselves. However, dancing is my lifeblood and I've done it all my life without ever feeling uninspired or spent. While I may end up receiving more acting opportunities, I will always continue to dance. That says something if you ask me and I hope everyone can find their true passion in life and turn it into a career as I have done.
