I Pledge Allegiance...

29 April 2008

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I've been away for a bit, but a lot of things have been happening and things have just not let up post DWTS.

Immediately after elimination, I hopped in a car straight for the airport for my flight to Salt Lake City. It was a crazy rush because the plane was scheduled to depart soon after the show's conclusion and I had no time to waste (I even changed and took off my makeup in the car). I almost missed the plane but thankfully I made it just in time.

This was an important flight and a huge deal because the first thing next morning, I would be officially sworn in as a US citizen.

The whole process that took nearly 10 years to go through had finally come down to this singular 9 AM ceremony on the morning of April 16, 2008. The officials were so welcoming and before I knew it, the ceremony had concluded.

I was one of 198 sworn in during the ceremony. I myself wanted to say something but in the end decided against it. 10 of my colleagues gave speeches and I was actually mesmerized by the word of others. It was then that I came to the silent realization that I was just one of so many other unique stories. It was very touching to hear the struggles and challenges that others like me had to overcome to arrive at this point.

Of course, my family was ecstatic for me though they were unable to attend the actual ceremony. I was actually only accompanied by one friend but I know that my family was there in spirit.

Now as I sit in my living room awaiting my US passport, I contemplate the many things I have to be thankful for.

Yes it was unfortunate that Pricilla and I were eliminated, but such is life and we both have such appreciation for all of you out there that stood by us and voted to keep us in the game. It was a great experience and I have found a great friend in Priscilla that will endure beyond the show. The comments and messages that you send me really do matter and sustain me (I do read every one of them).

As we move onward, there will be many new developments to come. We are currently looking for space to house Visionworx Dance Theater so I'll definitely let you know how that goes. There will also be other projects I am involved in that I'll share with you when the time is right.

And should I have an opportunity to participate in future seasons of DWTS, I will do so with pleasure. It would be an honor to perform for all of you again, but this time and an American citizen!

Love,
Louisxxx
